Stargazing Trip (Lowell Observatory)

Bio Guardians members are invited to join us for an evening stargazing trip to Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff. We’ll meet on the Embry‑Riddle Prescott campus for a required sign‑in and safety check, then travel together to Lowell to take part in their staff‑led public stargazing program. Expect to explore multiple telescope stations and activities at your own pace—what we view will depend on the night’s conditions and Lowell’s programming (we won’t be moving or operating their telescopes).

Timing: Meet at 3:50 PM, depart around 4:00 PM, arrive in Flagstaff around 6:00–6:15 PM, stargaze until roughly 10:00 PM, and return to campus approximately 11:45 PM–12:30 AM (all times are approximate).

Requirements: All attendees must provide an emergency contact and their best same‑night phone number for coordination.

What to bring: Warm layers (Flagstaff can be below freezing at night), closed‑toe shoes, water/snack, and any needed medications. Binoculars and a red‑light flashlight are optional but helpful.

Transportation: Group transportation is preferred (details shared with confirmed attendees). Self‑driving may be allowed with advance coordination and additional waivers/forms as required.
