Our Mission

EagleLifter is a sponsored student organization at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. With a namesake air-launch testbed and a dedicated team of flyers and engineers, EagleLifter facilitates research and development of unmanned aerial vehicle technology on campus.

Testbed Aircraft

EagleLifter operates special-purpose testbeds UAVs for research and educational use.

  • EagleLifter is a UAS that can deploy payloads up to 6 ft in span and 15 lbs. With advanced flight systems including an autopilot and companion computer, EagleLifter can be configured for a variety of missions.
  • MiniLifter is a sub-scale version of EagleLifter available for risk reduction and smaller experiments.

Design-Build

EagleLifter continues to grow its test portfolio with new capabilities and clean-sheet design projects. These include:

  • Mission systems and avionics improvements
  • Composite wing upgrades
  • Ground station development
  • Support equipment design

Student-run and student-lead, EagleLifter provides its members with rigorous experience in multiple disciplines, including:

  • Structural design & fabrication
  • System engineering & integration
  • Aeronautical design
  • Flight testing
