I hope your semester is going well so far and you are surviving midterms, Here are some updates regarding the chapter;
PACE is a big part of what we are trying to accomplish this semester and the following semesters. PACE stands for Planning to Achieve Collegiate Excellence, this means helping as well as encouraging middle schoolers and high schoolers to go to college and helping provide them the skills to succeed in college. I encourage you to look back at your middle/high school experience and think about what it would have been like to have a mentor and/or someone help with school work from someone else to provide a new perspective.
We will be having a PACE/Community Service meeting once a month. The first PACE/Community service meeting will be next Thursday at 4 PM (location TBD, an email will be sent out when the location is confirmed).
- We will be giving more information about Science Olympiad and tutoring opportunities. These two programs will be working with a local middle school and helping out students. It's a lot of fun and a great way to give back to the community.
- We also want you all to let us know what kind of service you want to do and your availability. You can come anytime between 4-5.
Next General Meeting will be held during the first week of November. The date and time are to be TBD. We will keep you updated on this!
That is all I have for you guys! Hope to see you all at the next meeting!
