Late Cancellations
To best make use of the hours available in the Writing & Design Lab and tutor time, we ask that clients give at least three hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduled appointments. Clients who cancel within three hours or no-show for appointments three or more times in a given semester will be unable to make further appointments with the Writing & Design Lab unless they appeal to the WDL Director through email.
No-Show Policy
Clients will be considered a no-show for an appointment if they are more than 15 minutes late to an appointment. Clients who cancel within three hours or no-show for appointments three or more times in a given semester will be unable to make further appointments with the Writing & Design Lab unless they appeal to the WDL Director through email.
Required Visits and Instructor Reports
Some faculty at ERAU-Prescott require visits to the Writing & Design Lab for assignments in their course. Clients are encouraged to upload the assignment sheet and rubric alongside their writing in the appointment form, along with their professor’s contact information. Upon completion of the consultation, the tutor will submit a report to the faculty member and student summarizing the consultation. Clients who are unprepared or decline to engage with the consultation may be asked to schedule a follow up appointment to meet the spirit of the required visit assignment.
Faculty interested in requiring WDL consultations should contact the Director of the WDL at the earliest opportunity to ensure tutor availability within the assignment parameters, share the assignment details for distribution to the tutors, and, when possible, attend a weekly staff meeting to ensure tutors understand what the faculty member would like their students to accomplish during a consultation.
